I'd say look at the 4way switch(the one that controls the turn signals, brights, cruise control and wipers. Just sucks that these usually aren't very cheap.
I know some vehicles this is to indicate a toasted bulb. However I'm fairly certain ALL XJs do the fast blink thing to indicate a toasted bulb. I second Joe's suggestion.
If you have no spark I would look at CPS and coil for sure...mainly the cps. Maybe if you have a buddy with an xj see if he'll let you borrow it for 5 min. As for fuel pump did you ever hear it kick on before? Some of them can be rather quiet. And what do you mean you have a "little" pressure at...
Just to clarify you are saying that I need to keep the 99 injectors correct? I had already planned on keeping the 99 intake and taking as many of the acessories as possible. As far as the dizzy goes I was under the impression that 99 is when they went to the distributorless ignition set up. If...
It is possible that you warped the VC or the gasket but I doubt it. I say drive it as is and keep an eye on it to see if it's leaking at all. Also make sure to check your oil levels every week or so for a while just to be sure you aren't losing any oil.
I am very serious about doing the swap. All I'm waiting on is getting the PO of the 99 to sell it to me. Like I said Stockli and I swapped a 94 into an 89 so I know what I'm getting into for the most part. Not to mention we did it in the middle of winter on a sloped driveway.

Just a thought that my friend and I were knocking around when we had to replace one of ours.....What if you used the copper float ball from a toilet tank. They cost a couple of bucks and it would be freakin hilarious!
I have a 94 4.0 auto that is rusted out and I'm looking at buying a 99 4.0 with a blown motor. I have experience putting a 94 motor into an 89 so I am well aware of what the job calls for, however I'm not sure of the compatibility of the sensors and what not. I'm fairly certain the head on the...
Stockli and I were talking about your thread the other day and he brought up a great point that I thought I'd share with you. If you get a tranny from the yard if it is still in the vehicle chances are pretty good that its shot. Yards usually pull all the good motors, transmissions and transfer...
Ain't that the truth....I would also check out the TPS as it can cause similar issues. If you pull the TPS and turn it and it sounds crunchy its definitely bad. There are also writeups on here as how to test it with a multi meter.
I think it is quite normal for wheels an lugs to get a bit hot. Think about it. You're stopping several thousand pounds with just a few inches of surface area, that's A LOT of friction which causes A LOT of heat. Your rotors are metal which conduct heat quite well and are in direct contact with...
I agree with Tim, it sounds like a tire balance problem. I would check all your wheels to see if you still have your balance weights. If you got a crappy weight like I did it doesn't take much to knock it off the bracket that holds it to the wheel. I believe mine got knocked off from rolling the...
