2000 Xj 4.5" Lift questions and concerns

I put a heavy duty track bar on my XJ where you had to drill out the tapered hole in the sub-frame bracket. It does not stay tight. If the KKS track bar has similar setup, skip that and just move the hole where the trackbar attaches to axle. Keep track of what you do so you can go back after...

Need a lower control arm adjuster

Need a lower control arm adjuster or two. I've got one missing and snapped off one of the two bolts on the other sided. MOPAR does not appear to sell these. Anyone know where to get-them? 1991 XJ

Locker question for CT guys or near by

Yes, but IMHO, removing the carrier makes it easier, do it in a warm shop standing up, keeping an eye on the small parts.

Not the right water pump pulley

I've got a 1991 with air conditioning, the pulley in the link does not match any of mine. My FAN pulley mounts to an auxiliary shaft which is part of the air condition compressor bracket. It has a flange toward front to keep belt from slipping off. My water pump pulley is nearly flat across...

    O2 sensor disconnected, no CEL?

got high CO. This is a trail rig, very low miles from last inspection. I put on a new cat. conv. due to rusted connectors, I think the new one was too small. I may weld the old one back in and try again.

    O2 sensor disconnected, no CEL?

I'm trying to figure out an emissions problem and thought my O2 sensor might be bad. Disconnected it two days ago, but no check engine light yet. Shouldn't it throw a code immediately? If I disconnect the TPS, I get a code immediately, it resets after reconnecting the TPS, so I think my...

swapping parts from 1991 to 2001

fails CO. replaced the old catalytic converter due to a rusted away connector Maybe the new one is too small oil pressures real low when warm, lots of oil in air box, most likely need an engine rebuild to pass. I am going to try some things to pass but it's not likely to make it this year.

swapping parts from 1991 to 2001

Well, looks like my 1991 XJ engine is too old to pass emissions testing in NJ. I'm thinking of buying a 2001 and moving my axles, lift kit, bumpers to a newer un-rusted model. Anyone see any big problem with this? My lift has drop down brackets for the front links. I also have a VERY fat...

    Warn motor repair in CT

Get a good electrician to check it out before buying parts. You may just need to clean up all the connections, control and power.
