Just took this out of my 1999 with a front Dana 30. It was installed with 4.10 gears. Has about 5000 miles on it, and sadly not one single offroad encounter. It's been through 1 winter with plenty of snowy roads- but no dirt, rocks, mud, or submersion. Used with Castrol Syntec 75-140 full...
I've had jk moans for about 2 years now/50k miles no problems whatsoever. For tire sizes, we need to know your lift height (or lack thereof). The CHEAPEST tires would be the BFG KM's that come off of the jk's, and they're a close nick to an actual 32" tire at 255/75r17. So you'll need some...
Cal, sorry I never got around to that call. I emailed Deaver just now with my list of "wants" in a spring.
With it being winter and all, I decided to throw some sandbags in the back to help with traction. 420lbs of sandbags. The rear only sagged about an inch, and the ride was improved, but...
Cal, I'd have no problem dropping a grand on some leafs if I knew they were what I was looking for. But, like yossarian said something about the physics jus doesn't sit right. I wish there more built rigs out here so I might actually have a chance at riding on some deavers. I'm going to do some...
I too, looked into this pump for a while. And like others, $130 just didn't seem justifiable. Went with a $30 pep-brothers "BDG" brand pump, which has performed flawlessly for the past 4 years/80,000 miles. I've also been running Zerex G05 and distiller water for the same duration.
I've been browsing around the webz recently looking at air helper springs, and an idea came across my mind. What if you used the air spring to share the load under normal driving conditions, rather than just "overload" situations. Here's my thought:
A lot of poor guys in the mini-truck world...
the JKS's are nice, but they a meant to swivel. That means they have threads, which means over time the threads will develop play, leading to clunking.
I really like the IRO bushing sleeves. Cutting and welding isn't a problem, but I have no drill press, and no way to notch DOM...
I may actually go with adjustable lowers with rubber bushings, and weld them together once the length is set. Unfortunately, to set my caster where I want it I need uppers that are SHORTER than stock. I have yet to see anyone make adjustable or fixed arms that short.
I've been searching and searching, and having a helluva time finding any useful info. What I'm looking for are different brands FIXED control arm lengths (eye-to-eye). Almost everyone makes them. Usually they're just labelled as "works with 3-4.5" or "for 6+".
Longer story, here's why:
I've...
Shot Zach an email, he sent out a new replacement bushing today, free of charge. He also prompted me to fix the exhaust, as a third bushing would be out of the question lol. How to gain a repeat customer...
Any wording that is transposed to text from speech can be misleading. I thought the header was simply a concise title related to a problem I encountered, no faults imposed. The thumbs down emoticon was for nothing more than situational suckage.
Obviously, the cut exhaust is what caused the...
I suppose I could, but do you think the hot air would still move towards the rear once the vehicle is in motion, causing it to melt again?
Also, it would have to be one SHORT turn-down. the outer edge of my tailpipe is literally in line with the head of the shackle bolt. If the pipe gets too...
