WOW, reading all the reply's I wonder how many of you that answered this guy ACTUALLY even have a cage.
A B-Pillar bar is a great idea for the casual wheeler or until you can actually build a full multi point cage. I have seen more than one 4x4 driver and passenger benefit from a B-Pillar...
I liked the pinion support and better clearance of the nine. Thats what drove me to one.
Spooled with 35 spline shafts, it's the one thing I don't sweat when beating up on my XJ.
The low pinion is something you do need to address, however. i made a pinion skid to help keep the rear ujoint...
I went the wire rope route run inside the springs. Cheep, effective. Keeps the springs in.
Bolted to the fabricated spring retainers at the bootom of the spring bucket, and bolted to the inner fender well.
No, just more village wisdom in my opinion. The teeth pattern contact is the same if they are 3.55 or 5.38 gears. the thinest part of the pinion is the shaft, and that is the same no matter the ratio.
I have snapped 4.56 and 5.38 rear pinions, both snapped at the front bearing.
Also ate the...
JET ACCU Speed.
The one that splices in to adjust the clock pulse out of the tcase. Wasteof money. Change the speedo gear, or just note the difference.
Took the XJ off the road a year after I put it in, and it never did work right.
Total Waste.
Nothing like promoting the local "Villiage Wisdom".
Why would anyone buy a JEEP after all the broken jeep stories on the internet .............
:looser:
Yeah, your bumper looks to be 2x4 box.
I made the TJ bumper out of 2x4x3/16ths. The spindle is just a tad shorter than 4 inches. In order to get it secured at the bottom, I cut a 1.5 inch square out of the bottom to allow for welding the bottom of the spindle inside the bumper. Then just had...
Looks a little small in diameter to be the same one from AtoZ. that one is actually a spindle for a trailer. I just installed one on a TJ bumper i built. No way in hell a 35" would make it fail.
AS to replacing the failed one. Plasma cutter!! you will also want to open up the bottom of the...
It was over kill on mine. 6.5" springs with 1" spacers/shackles.
I put in a D-44 with high steer, moved the track bar frame side bracket aft 2 inches, and made an over the axle track bar mount. The 4 inch drop pitman arm was too much. Swapped it out for a stock arm.
