It will not fold like a Taco!!! I rolled mine with no cage, doors off (all four doors) down a hill and was stopped from rolling a second time by a tree on the rain gutter above the passenger rear door. Rolled her over and kept wheeling. The roof was pushed down about six inches and I had to...
You didn't say what year j10 but the front of a pre 80 will be a pass drop which won't work with you t-case. If it is a Auto with a quadratrac it will be an offset d44 rear which might be to far offset to work with a centered rear output. If it is a standard transmission it will be an AMC 20...
i would guess that if .9 is acceptable then there wouldn't be a replacement that changes camber by .9 degree. I used to work at a Dana assembly plant and I can testify that if an axle was out of spec and the tubes couldn't be pulled and re pressed to get angles correct it was scrapped. They...
I am running 4.56 with 33's and feel like I am running out of gear on the interstate. I have 2600 rpm at 70 and running much more than that just doesn't feel right. I sure wouldn't go lower though. My junk has well over 200k and a couple hard years of wheelin', so it isn't the tightest xj out...
I have an Aussie in mine and drive it daily. It really makes a big difference on the trail and I can live with it on the street. I am running 4.56 gears and 33" bfg mt's in a five speed. They tell me that the lunch box lockers are even easier to live with in an auto. i bought mine new for...
I just did mine about a month ago. I used 3/16" wall 2x4 60" long and it turned out great. I have banged them on multiple rocks with nothing more than scratches to show for it. I used to have to get out a big hammer to get the doors to close after wheeling for a day. Well worth it.
My guess is that you asked the vendor about aftermarket gears for a Rubi diff case. Some of those are actually thick gears made for the 3.92 and down diff case, and they will come with spacers to make up the difference between the normal ring gear bolts and the larger holes in the Rubi diff...
They will work. The ring gear bolts are a different size but they are larger. If you will drill your diff case for the larger diameter they will bolt right on. In that same line of thinking the Dana 44's in the rear of Isuzu Rodeo's has the "thick" ring gear sets as well and is a direct bolt...
I have a locker from a D44 Rubicon axle that I want to put in my standard d44. It measures out to be a direct fit for 3.54 and down gears, but I am running 4.56 and want to stay with the gears I have now. Does anybody know if there is a shim for the ringgear to use it with a 3.54 and down diff...
I have an 89 that has had the cooling demons for quite a while now. With the differences in cooling systems it really seems that these problems should not cross over from one system to the other (open or closed). I think from my experiences that the blocks might actually decompose over time...
I'm thinking the radiator might need to go, too. It seems to flow water fine from a hose, but just a few passages plugged would reduce effeciency, especially at higher flow rates........hummm! I hope this is the root of my problem, I will gladly spring for a new radiator to have a "cool" Jeep...
For anyone who is watching this thread, I have found a ton of fine debris in the lower radiator hose. The stuff in the hose looks like about a half cup of dirt was dropped into the cooling system. I found this by stretching a t-shirt over a five gallon bucket to work like a big coffee filter...
