How much strength over stock are they advertised as-- and due to the c-clip design is there as much advantage to getting alloy shafts as there would be in a semi or full float axle? I'm not hating by anymeans, they look sweet, I've just heard it argued that because of the c-clip design...

Thats the most creative hood vent setup I've ever seen-- at least its original. Do you have any pics with the snorkel attatchment? Also what kind of plastic is it-- will it hold up to the temps under the hood?

I know its not a bolt on, but then again the 8.8 isn't either, but isn't the Liberty 8.25 ABS? That could be an option, and with as many that have been sold there have to be some in wrecking yards. Just a thought--

Well, here is my take -- As for the budget boost, go ahead and get the longer shocks so you can take advantage of the additional travel, but I would go ahead and get 3" coils at least. When you put on the BB you will end up wanting more height. The AJ's rock rails are a great choice...

I believe that Dick Cepek made some at one point too. I know that their original lift for TJ's used drop brackets all around as chances are those could be fitted for the XJ with a little fabbing. I am not sure whether or not they have the braces though.

I would imagine the way to do it would be to do the swap as a whole unit -- tailgate, lights, hinges. if you did it that way, aside from the latch, I would imagine that it would work, but I'm going to stop talking becasue I don't really have any tech on this

From what little experiance I have, the different years tail lights are different shapes and the tail gate itself is a different shape so you'd have to get new tail lights while you were at it. You could get it to work with enough fabbing, but you could also try and find a very early model XJ...

So the idea behind this is that the BB's or golf balls will fly to the outside while driving and balance the tire-- I got that part. But what makes it go to the heavy (or light) spot on the tire?

No way yall, those aftermarket mirrors are def a trail mod.... as are the chrome "a had Bushwackers" bolts on the fenders.

At the expense of sounding like an asshat, why do you need 7.5 inches? Are you going to be running 44's? If not cut those fenders like crazy and keep the COG low. Just my .02 cents though--
