Just doesn't want to idle.

I went to start the XJ one day and the starter just clicked. Jumped it off another vehicle and it started fine, but wouldn't hold an idle, I had to keep the throttle open or it would just die. It had seen a little mud the week prior to this, so I figured that that alternator was toast...

I really only need the outer for the driver side shaft. I cant find one locally, someone on here has to have one sitting around that they arent using....

I dont know if it matters or not, and I cant remember if they asked me what T case I had when I ordered it. I have a 231 though, so it's either 231 only or both 231 & 242.

REGEAR IT more power is not going to make up for gears. the lower the gears you have the slower you can crawl, all more power is going to do is let you spin your tires easier.
