    HF Winch

I concur with Harvo above. I've had an HF 8k for several years. Similar opinion and experience. Have only used it in single line pulls, and have not stalled it. Several times have had quite a bit of tension on it, but was more concerned with the stresses on the uniframe (probably needlessly)...

Just wondering: Where are you finding the 231 tera low for $750 shipped?

Making Vacuum disconnect work with a 99 TJ T-case

By the way, what I was suggesting does not require any cutting of lines. You just unplug the connector at the firewall and connect vacum tubing to it there. If you want use the transfer case switch again, just pull the lines off and reconnect the original connector.

Making Vacuum disconnect work with a 99 TJ T-case

It's really not that hard. You should have a vacum line connector near the passenger firewall that joins the lines coming up from the vacum motor to the switch down on the old transfer case, etc. The red line is manifold vacum. Plug it if you want to wedge the vacum motor. On the other hand, I...

    2 Wheel Low

If you have a vacum disconnect, you can also do it with a couple of 3way 12 volt solenoids. Pretty much works the same way as the rightcoast crawler link above, but has a simple push-on / push-off button on the dash. If you understand the above article, you can quickly see how the 3 way solenoid...

    Best locker combo.........

I like the ARB's. Have front and rear on both of my jeeps. I used to have a tracloc limited slip in rear of the xj, but actually now prefer having the option of completely open with the ARB when on icy pavement.

    leaf spring bolt stuck HELP!!!

This comes up from time to time. This is cut from a response a while back from Aaron Storms on the the Colorado XJ group: "Unfortunately this is actually pretty common, especially on older xj's. If I have to cut the big hanger bolt off to get the leaf springs out, I then flip up the back seat...

    It's so tempting

I've had one of these things for about a year. It's a bit slow, but it does work. I can't tell the difference between the HF unit and the Milemarker E8000 and the Ramsey REP 8000. Yup, I'd rather have the $500 Warn, but I haven't had any problems with it...

    Anybody used a Clarke welder?

I have a simlar older Clark model 220v EN 150 with gas. It works ok for the little work I do with it. (but, I also have gas, stick and tig) Yes, it does seem a bit cheap (flimsy case, gun, and feed mechanism) compared to some other units but it does work ok. I don't use flux core much anymore...
