I am not trying to beat a dead horse here, as I tried to search this many different ways.
Is there a way to find the spline count of my TCase without pulling it. From all the reading I have done 1990 went through a transition form 21 spline to 23 spline. I have a 23 spline from a 94 that I...
Well I guess I am going to have to pull the case. I would tend to believe that it would be a 21 spline because its a Renix. But....

First off, Its been awhile since I have been on here. I have searched and have come up with mixed results for the answer that I am looking for.
I have a 1990 4 door XJ with a swapped in 87 4.0L with the original 90 AW4 Trans and T case. I believe that the original Tcase is going out.
I lucked...
I got a 93 parts Jeep you can have if you want to come get it. Its in Nebraska though and I would think that it might be a little expensive to come get. Good floor pans and the front frame is in good condition. It slid off the road and the drivers rear hit a pole and it totaled the rear end...
Can someone tell me what exactly these changes were, and what would need to be changed out? Will this bolt up to my transmission but I would need a different yolk? Or do I need to change out the input shaft?

What years did they change splines? If I new the years I may be able to find something.
I do not know what in my case is bad therefore I would rather swap in a case. I dont know how messed up mine is, so finding one that fits would most likely suit me better.

I have a 90 Cherokee with a bad Transfer case and I am looking to swap it out with my parts Cherokee that is a 93. Both are 4.0L Auto with the 231 Transfer cases. are all the shafts going to line up? I would like to be able to put the good one in without having to crack it open and swap...
I would like to add that the 93 HO runs very strong and sounds very smooth for the mileage. Oil has seeped out in places and the seals are leaking a bit. Compression seems to be good, however I have not pulled the plugs or really looked at it very much. I dont want to start tearing into until...
I have bought a Wrecked 93 Cherokee Country with 200,000 miles. Started right up after sitting in a garage for 2 1/2 years. Smoked a bit at first, but cleared up by the time I drove it across town. This may have something to due with the old gas also.
I have a 90 Cherokee with a 3 inch...
I think this is more than just a rear main seal and I wont know whats all wrong until I get it apart.
I need to know where to get the Gasket kits and rings. I have done some searching but everything turns up the HO motors. Originally mine was a 87 Renix. If you know where to order this stuff...
I need to put a ring and gasket kit in my engine. It runs strong but uses quite a bit of oil. I know the rear seal is leaking pretty bad.
Where is the best place to buy a kit from?
Do you think its possible to do this in frame? I have a 3 inch lift on it now so there should be enough room...
As far as getting a JY rear end, I have limited funds and the JY's around here want upwards of $400 for an 8.8 and more for a Dana 44. I have been searching for a reasonable 8.8 or 44, however I am thinking of just buying a new axle that is well built, which is why I dont want to spend any...
