    Roof Rubber Strips

Do the smart people dispense with the roof rubber strips? Or replace with something similar? Or reuse but replace the double-sided tape? Figure to repaint and masking around them seems like not the best way.

    Pre-97 Door Glass Rubber

So far I've used the windshield trim, and also all rubber on front doors. Quality seems very good. Thanks for the recommendation

    Better adhesive removing solvent?

I used eraser wheel to peel off the black tape that forms the black edge on 1995 sides. Also worked great on the foam tape adhesive residue from the rubber door trim pieces, which is probably the same stuff you are dealing with.

    Anybody Replace Rear Quarter?

Jeep was hit at some point. Rear quarter is full of filler. $135 gets a fellow a new rear quarter that reaches to within a couple inches of quarter glass. Every search comes up with people folding and cutting, never actually fixing. Only one post in entire innerwebz offers a warning that...

    Valves staying open

YouTube guy had same problem. Was a defective cam. Did you put in a new cam? Most likely is improper timing but if that checks out then might want to find that video. Look up Dex XJ videos.

1999 XJ is getting the best of me. No Start.

older Jeeps have a ballast resistor in line with the coil feed to chop the voltage back lower than 12V when key is in run position. Here's why. When one turns key to START the alternator isn't providing any output, and the starter motor load will pull down your 12V battery to something less...

How to clean corrosion off from rims?

Agree with Tim. A breach of the clear coating allows chalky corrosion to grow under the clear. Some products are pretty hard on aluminum. I'm about to try cleaning up a set too. I have some stripper but haven't started yet so cannot recommend.

    Window track alignment

The plastic inner door skin is the only thing you'll see from inside. It's the plastic panel with arm rest, speaker vents, switches, etc. You know, the thing. Everybody knows the thing.

    Window track alignment

What year is your Jeep? In this case it matters. On 97-01 I THINK the horizontal inner seal attaches to the plastic inner door skin. On older jeeps is clips onto the steel inner door skin. if the door was hit then the metal lip may require a little bending work, though I am not picturing...

    AW4 Date/Era Conversion

I now have two options: I can maybe convert the 99 transmission to work on my 1995 by changing output shaft, output housing, and splicing old sensors to new. While some old threads say this is easy (splicing is indeed easy), I have not found details on how to map wire colors. So maybe not my...

    AW4 Date/Era Conversion

Here are differences in output housing. Tag shows unofficial years, sensor hole ID measured by calipers, which is not very accurate. Note that center-to-center distance from sensor hole and retaining screw are different. The new type could be sleeved with a hole drilled and tapped in the...
