The cruise control on my 1990 XJ w/automatic transmission has stopped working. My mechanic tells me the servo is bad. Worse yet is the fact Jeep has stopped making this model servo and none of the local junk yards have one.
Do any forum members have any suggestions where I can find a new or...
I have a 1990 XJ with power windows. After a pretty rough off road trip I began to experience problem operating the power windows. They work intermittently. I find I can not raise or lower any of the windows when this problem occurrs. Frequently I can turn off the engine and the windows will...
I know the switch is bad because it flops back and forth and will not stay in the on or off position. As I wiggle the switch the lights will come on momentarily. This is why I asked for information about the switch, not the electrical circuit.
The OEM switch for the fog lamps in my 1990 XJ no longer works. Do I need an OEM replacement or will an off the shelf switch work? If off the shelf, what kind and where can I get one?
Thanks for the fuse locations. I found them and they aren't the problem. Now comes the troubleshooting fun. The lighter should be pretty straightforward, but I suspect the cruise control will be a challange.
I have a 1990 XJ. My cigarette lighter and cruise control have both stopped working. I can't find any slots on the under-dash fuse block that indicate they are these devices. Are the fuse slots listed as something else? Any suggestions?
I recently put C-ROK bumpers on my XJ. Because of the prevalence of jumping rocks here in Arizona I took a less expensive way out when painting the bumpers. After sanding and wiping with acetone, I put on a couple of coats of cheap WalMart spray can primer followed by several coats of cheap...
Got rif of my rear sway bar and really noticed the difference on bouncy, country roads. Installed a RE 4.5 lift and all the sway went away. Rides like a champ.
I am having exactly the same type of leak on my '90 with an A4W after replacing the main bearing seal, valve cover gasket and oil filter adapter o-rings. None of my fluids ever seem to get low. I hope someone has an answer.
Thanks for the help. Now, where is the best place to run the wires through the firewall to the passenger compartment? Are there easily accessable holes already there or do I need to drill a hole? If I need to drill, where is the safest spot?
Thanks again.
What is the best and easiest way to run wires for switches and such uo to the overhead console in a 1990 XJ? Any problems associated with adding switches up there?
I am getting ready to install KC driving lights on my 1990 XJ. What is the easiest way to run the wires through the firewall? Also, where is the best place to pick up power? Should I connect directly to the battery or is there a power buss I can hook to easily?
My 1990 XJ has the stock exhaust coming out the rear of the vehicle. This seems to limit the clearance when exiting a short dip or beginning a steep climb. Is there any problem with routing the exhaust to the side behind the rear tire?
