I've hit both lower panels and actually crushed one and part of the upper panel when I slid into a bad rut pitting me against a tree, cut and fold w a custom protruding bumper would've saved me. You don't usually hit the bottom, but the side yes. I will agree a CnF w nothing looks stupid to me...
My own dad and I had to weld my roof skin on due to it being replaced in 2003 and held on with only panelbond glue? That was no small task so I can't imagine redoing the entire structure! Thanks for keeping one more XJ on the road!
Can agree with Evam^^^ whole build is looking spectacular, makes me jelly I'm still rocking stock frame and warped JCR sliders.
Haven't seen a good build thread like this in awhile either, thanks for documenting it for us to enjoy.
Throttle body spacer are absolutely useless unless using a TBI set up.
Bored throttle body is one of the only "power adders" that works. Now whether it's worth the $300 or so for the 5-10hp you get, is up to you.
You can get about another 20-30hp with a proper intake, bored tb and exhaust set...
So theoretically I just need a 31" driveshaft, like out of a 96-97 ZJ? The u-joints are the same so it will bolt up. You know what length yours is by chance?
Edit: I said i was going to use it just for testing which i know would be fine, but if i can run one permanently f/r, it would be cheaper and easiest for the time being if i can just grab another front while i'm getting replacement D30 shafts that i broke.
I'm also going to be stretching the...
Okay, I'll make sure to do that. Does anybody know if a front driveshaft will work lengthwise in the back? Stock wheelbase and np231, just an SYE. I know you can with an auto and a SYE but its an inch shorter trans. Thought I'd ask before i take off to the junkyard.
