*sniff* What a sad thread! I'm going to take my guy on a walk before work. You have my empathy, Jon

    REAMER!!!!!!!!!!!

Are you looking for a 5/8 reamer with a 1/2 shank? Or are you looking at making it bigger than 5/8? I could mail you a used one, then you could futz with the cutting oils and get your ID. Let me know, either way.

    First Aid Kit?

cklaus said: I agree 100%. I had a MSgt that caught HepC from pulling a lady out of a buring car. He was on the donor list for a liver, when I saw him last. They make a CPR oral shield, it's a piece of latex(?) with a hole in the middle that protects you from catching something you can't wash...

    Stocking the Jeep

Vitamin bottle full of cotton balls soaked in Vaseline, with waterproof matches mentioned by 5-90. Signal mirror. Comm set: cell, cb, and tell a friend when to come looking for you. Lots of water, just like 5-90 said. Of course, where you live, you should know the local dangers, too.

    Procomp Leafs = 0 n0es

I priced a set of RE leaf springs from a local aftermarket shop and was quoted $219 each with $45 in shipping(before the RE price increased). Holy crap, I was trying to buy local, but not at a substantial loss for me. That was a non-starter for me and I haven't been back.

    hybrid xj idea

Wow, time sure does fly, it's April frirst already. ;) When I'm more than a 45 minute walk to cell phone reception, I strap my bike to the top of the Jeep. Thankfully, we have miles of trails, minutes from town.

    INTERACTIVE (sorta) project frankenstein

Are you in HS? If so, try taking an auto class at school or at the local JC. I bought a '72 blazer when I was 17, drove(read beat it down) for a few months, and then spent a year wrenching with anyone that would let me under their car with them. I learned a lot my senior year, the biggest thing...

Woohoo, I learned something new! My membership is paying for itself in spades.

XJ Bucking.. Doesn't happen very often.. No codes, idles fine.. WTF?!

Mine bucks randomly, too. I replaced my CPS, ballast, alternator(easier than I had thought), battery, fuel filter, coil, wires, plugs, rotor cap, and I have come to the conclusion that my fuel pump is propably shot. So, when I get the money, I will remove the tank, have the tank hot-tanked and...

    Terrible decision day-

My Lab has hip displacia(?) and I have been quoted $6-10K for the surgery, depending on which doctor I go to. I've also been told that due to his age(4.5yo) that the surgery may not work and he will be in the same place as before, and I'd be out a serious amount of money. So, I decided to place...

Front wheel scuffing the ground while turning

Mine does the same thing. I try not to turn at full lock on dry pavement. Being new to this platform, I didn't realize this wasn't normal. Now I'll look into this. Thanks for bringing this up.

    Cheap Cherokee Build

Wow, looks like a heck of a project. It'll be worth the effort.

What's the stupidest thing you ever did that you would admit to?

I was nearing completion on a near-off restoration of a '64 malibu, when I decided to drive half a block and fill up with gas. Well.......apparantly, I had the tank straps on the wrong way-I still don't know how that happened-I was about 100' from the drive way when I heard a thud and then a...
