Can't get valve cover gasket to stop leaking. help!

The valve cover bolt torque seems to be pretty critical too... 85 inch pounds is what the manual says. That's not very tight. If you do over tighten, you will deform the grommets and possibly the gasket.

    Motor has occasional hesitations/sputtering

Maybe check the ground (G101) on the right side of the engine block just aft and above where the oil filter is. This is the ground stud location to supply ground to pin 2 of each o2 sensor.

    Pins and connectors

It looks like they will only sell the connector already pinned in with a pigtail. I would just like to have the connectors and pins.

    Pins and connectors

Does anyone have a source to buy pins and connectors for the PCM, Injectors, IAC, TPS, IAT, CTS, and MAP? I want to re wire the harness from the PCM C1 connector to all things on top of the motor really.

    Let's talk throttle body

You sir are correct. The manual does show installations for single and dual hole installations. The single hole requires felt, two hole installations show specially machined screws to install the sensor to the proper air gap.

    Let's talk throttle body

When you are installing a Crank Position Sensor, are you putting a new felt pad on the tip of the sensor for the gaping to the flywheel? If you aren't, you may have trashed two sensors. I get the pads from the service department at the dealership... The usually will just give ya some. next...

    Slow temp rise

The FSM shows that on 2000-2001 models, the electric fan comes on when A/C pressure is at 300 +/- 20 PSI... The computer turns the fan on at 223 degrees and turns off at 217 without A/C dialed up... I just verified the numbers. I watch my coolant temps like a hawk! I also flush my coolant every...

    Slow temp rise

The electric fan should come on at 220 degrees per the FSM. The electric fan will also come on when the A/C is on. How old is the electric fan? I know my fan will come on at 222 degrees every time... It shuts off at 215.

    CKS Fun

Navy AE (VS-22, S3B Viking) here! I work at Garmin Aircraft Certification now. Believe it or not, most everything that I have changed out were close to the end of tolerance as written in the FSM. Some parts like the O2 sensors were replaced just as a good measure! I sure can't wait to swap that...

    CKS Fun

I have no problem replacing any or all parts on this Cherokee. Since electronics don't have an infinite life, replacing suspect bad components and figuring out how they operate is fun. I'm and aircraft avionics guy, and I have seen the craziest and simplest things make systems on an aircraft go...

    CKS Fun

I'm new to this site but have been driving Cherokees for many years now. I owned a 2001 for ten years before trading it in for a new Toyota Tacoma. I just recently bought a 2000 Cherokee (for fun) and have been fighting a rough, low idle with no codes. I have replaced everything except for the...
