What are you doing to your rig - the continuing saga

Obviously It's a little late, but our Towers would have worked a lot better for ya. They were designed specifically for the XJ chassis and remain water tight if done right. http://www.boostwerksengineering.com/Rear-XJ-Shock-Towers_p_21.html

Hood vents, scoops etc. Heat extraction

Yeah, I would recommend against that. The radiator air flow (the only air flow that matters) of most cars is designed to duct into the low pressure zone under the car. What car have you seen that vents the engine bay into the wheel well? That would be a first for me. The air in the wheel well...

    Rear wheel torque

:sure: I have to lol sometimes at these threads on forums. 1 - The discussion really has nothing to do with which rear tire sees more torque. As mentioned, an open diff distributes the same amount to both sides assuming traction is equal. HOWEVER. That's not the issue here. We should be...

    Vanagon love

:wstupid: lol that still cracks me up. Hopefully no one was too offended by my sarcastic comment. While I still wouldn't personally own one, I've come to hate them a lot less over the years. Especially after having taken them camping. Park, Pop, Done. The subaru motor makes them 1000 times...

    Linkage for clocked 242

Hey Shawn. Have you tried putting the shifter extension on the other side of shifter? That may give you enough clearance.

    4.7's and a AW4

Don't loose the check balls! Also there are a couple different sizes, so they're easy to mix up. It helps having a baking pan (or similar) to disassemble the VB in so you don't loose anything.

stroker issues- wideband reads somewhat lean but exhaust is super rich

With the amount of money you have in it, I'd HIGHLY recommend getting it tuned on a dyno. Since you have the late model ECU, tuning is entirely possible. Flyin Ryan is the man. I just wish I knew that he was out there when I had the turbo.

stroker issues- wideband reads somewhat lean but exhaust is super rich

What does your wideband read at idle and low load cruise? Should be ~14.7. I don't understand how oil would be getting into your gas as you mentioned. Do you mean that gas is getting into your oil?

    4.7's and a AW4

That's a good point. I would advise against it in that case if you tend to do that a lot. BTW, how much weight are you towing? Do you feel the power of your stroker is enough/more than enough for what you do? Just curious. :guitar:

    4.7's and a AW4

If you go through the work of installing the kit and don't do the 1st gear hold, you will be kicking yourself later. It might be the best part of the entire mod.
