custom 8.25 diff cover and fozzy locker

With 3 teeth left unwelded I got about a 1/4 turn to the tires before the teeth bound up and locked. With my driving style that is too much and it would have put a lot of stress on everything especially the cross pin. By leaving 2 teeth unwelded it give less than 16th of a turn before binding...

custom 8.25 diff cover and fozzy locker

If you weld the front and rear of the spiders togather then there is no way to get them out. By doing this I can remove them and go back to open carrier by swapping in unmodified spiders. Also I can trail repair if I destroy the spiders. I have had no problems with this setup but I do carry a...

custom 8.25 diff cover and fozzy locker

The guy who welded them for me left 3 open. I found too much slack so I welded in the other one. He made me the diff cover as well. It was made from 1/4 hard plate. Rob

    RE Vs. RK Short Arms

I run the RE arms (uppers and lowers). They were part of my 4.5" super flex kit. Love them. Just put a rebuild kit in them last month. That was after 6 years of abuse. Rob

OK Uncle, I need to improve mileage or sell the Jeep.

X2 I run 32x9.50 TSL's, 3.55 gears, AW4, and 4.5" lift. I run 3rd on the highway, no OD unless going on level or down hill. Revs are 2000 to 2500 and I get 19 miles per gal. Rob

Rock Rails, track bar mount and bumper mod

Rust is a pain in the butt up here. They have figured out, in the winter, if they use liquid salt (salt water) on the roads it is more effective than salt alone. It is really hard on the vehicles though. I broke the hitch 3 years ago when a buddy was using it a winch anchor. I repaired it...

not sure but in cab its hot

My 96 XJ get very hot along the transmission tunnel and center concole. Mine is from all the heat from the engine, exhaust and the AW4. It gets hot enough that you can't put your feet or leg near it. I still have the carpet in there but there is no insulation. It is even worse on the trail. Rob

    Cracked exhaust header

In the posts people are mentioning APN headers for the XJ's. I have never heard of these before. I have looked into the Banks and Pacesetter ones. I have a 96 and have welded the header twice. I was going to buy the Banks one but by thime I have it shipped to the east coast of Canada it was...

    Back spacing on ...

That is what I am looking for. I am running 32X9.5X15 TSL with a 4.5" Super flex with stock wheels. No Rubbing. I want to go to a 265/75R16 truxus. It will give me the same diameter but an inch wider. Also I will be running Radials then. Rob
