    Steering box question

I heard that there is a screw on top of the steering box that i guess is suppose to adjust the steering tightness im guessing is this true? Reason being is that when my xj is at a stand still on the ground and i do short turns to the left and right there is a clunking sound that i feel in the...

    Quad cities Iowa

im from east moline, and its my first spring having the xj done and im hoping to do a lot of wheeling if me and my buddies can find another good spot, cuz it looks like theres going to be some sloppy trails come spring. so if you hear of any good spots around the area it would be helpful.

    acceleration vibration

ok i just measured everything one more time before i mess with any thing. taking into consideration that there are 5* axle pad shims in and NO t-case drop. heres what i came up with- 5* on the t-case (measured on side of extension housing) 19* on the driveshaft 15* on the pinion Is the T-case...

    acceleration vibration

so maybe i should consider putting the t-case lowering kit back in and take another measurement?

    acceleration vibration

yes slip yoke in the driveshaft with a high angle cv on the t- case end. i got it from driveshaft superstore and yes im pretty sure its 40* if not 40* than its 35*, but i know for sure it is a high angle cv. would it cause a problem if the drive shaft was a little short? i realized that when i...

    acceleration vibration

i have a high angle cv driveshaft with a slip yoke. i am pretty sure it said 40 degrees. I was told to point the pinion up at the transfer case when you have a cv driveshaft, isnt that the whole idea behind putting in axle pad shims.

    acceleration vibration

so are you saying i should take the 5 degree shims out and throw in 2 degree shims, and that should make me good.

    acceleration vibration

i just measured it today in the same spots and now im getting 20 on the driveshaft and 15 next to the diff cover. hopefully that will tell someone what is going on.

    acceleration vibration

Heres my situation. i got 95 xj with an RE 5.5 short arm lift. i got a high angle cv driveshaft with a slip yoke on it. After i put the driveshaft in, i took measurements with an angle finder. i put the angle finder on the driveshaft and got a measurement of 20 degrees, i then put it on the axle...

    backspacing on 33's

I got a set of new bridgestones for the street and im looking at some tsl's for trail tires, but i dont know if i want radial or bias yet though, because i have to take a little drive from my house to get to the trails so, i think im leaning towards radials, but it looks like the bias tsl's are a...
