I'm far enough down into the column that I'm not sure exactly how the rest of it comes apart, and the broken piece is like the inside structural ring thing part (idk the fucking name).
Here are two pics of my present dilemma:

In red is the bracket that holds the column tilt together, and in yellow are the ears that bracket sits behind. The tab of the right ear has broken off.

Wondering if I can find...
Working on rebuilding a steering column but need more carcasses for parts. Is the XJ column the only one that works in the XJ? I know you can salvage parts from columns in other GM cars but does the XJ require an XJ column?
Also, How tf do you get the actual shaft out of the column?
92XJ - I'm swapping in a new steering column and need to upgrade the stalk to one with cruise.
Is there any actual difference between the chrome and black ones?
Is there a compelling reason to get one over the other?
Seconded a lot of the above - not enough money, not enough time, etc. Though I still have an XJ at the moment, it hasn't been driven in months because of a broken steering column.
Been spending money on other, less annoying hobbies.
That's the one-wire plug that is right above the accumulator/drier, right?
If I disco this and the fan doesn't come on with the AC selected in the cabin, what does that mean?
I swapped the relay with another known working one (starter) and no change to the behavior.
I'm really stumped about the efan. It doesn't even come on when I unplug the temp sensor in the thermostat housing.
My AC doesn't work and the efan doesn't work.
When the AC is selected in the cabin, the compressor didn't start and the efan doesn't turn on.
I can jump the relay for the AC and the compressor will turn on. It looks like there's refrigerant in the system, because I think I can see some...
