Hi guys, I was going to order a new bearing for my 93" xj aircon pump, i had the bearing off but ive lost it and didnt write the number down... Can anyone offer me any help? Cheers :)

I had a similar problem, when my O2 sensor's wires melted. If the heater element wires have touched you will of blown the 30A Engine control fuse. Unplug the o2 sensor, replace that fuse, drive home and fit a new o2. Disconect the battery over night and bobs your uncle :)

Leading on from a thread on another forum where I asked if anyone had taken one of these bearings out. The general answer being no, I thought I would have a go my self - being the inquisitive person I am. First off, a warning. Do not try and press the shaft out of the bearing! Photo No.4 shows...

Can i ask why you are more trustworthy of a mechanical steering system over hydraulic? You can quite as easily bust a steering joint or box.

Lawsoncl - thanks for that, have you got a link to the post at all? Fletchs90xj - good to hear yours is still working :). Hopefully mine proves to be as stable as yours! I think by doing it on an ardunio makes it a bit more accessible to people, just waiting on the postman now.
