Find a cap for the hole. Then get the needle adapter for your grease gun. Then remove the cap and shoot grease into it, then replace the cap.

I second greasing the caliper slides. Use high temp wheel bearing grease. Thin coat it after you wire brush the rust or crud. It also could be the piston seal is deformed and not letting the piston return. See if your pads are worn at an angle. That is typical indication of the slide(s)...

The noises when the wheels are turned very sharp sound like CV joints the the front half shafts.

If that is the case , it seems like it would be easier to remove the rear drive shaft.
