    The Brendamobile

nice work, I'm curious with the black/white contrast, what it would look like if the fender flares were black. surely it could be photoshopped first to get an idea, but I think it might look good. keep up the good work

    outboard/extended trackbar mount

easier? yes right? no for the most part, the longer the better (close too or matching drag link ideally), and if he can gain an inch or 2 frame side, why wouldn't he?

    Bored TB and Header question

no problem, I can't remember if the intake is 62mm diameter or not, and I am not near my heep so I can't go check... but the TB comes off rather easy, if you had a set of callipers you could find out quick. if it needed to be bored out... well I'd want to ensure no filings/shavings got into the...

    Bored TB and Header question

    1. I have a 60mm TB, I really didn't notice much of a improvement over stock, but that's because I didn't often drive at WOT (wide open throttle), which is where you will really notice the added flow. Normal driving, stop n go, cruising, etc it won't be much different... until you floor it...

    Taurus cooling fan questions.

never used it, but this piece looks pretty good http://www.dakotadigital.com/index.cfm/page/ptype=product/product_id=852/category_id=-1/home_id=-1/mode=prod/prd852.htm I just wired the 2 speeds to a 3 position switch ON-OFF-ON ON = high speed OFF ON = low speed with one of those safety covers...

OBD 1 vs OBD 2 Harness

Great information thanks. I have done much of what you advised... unwrapped, trace, remove, repeat. Will mark and ensure I keep those vital ones, and try to update this thread in time with how things go. Thanks

OBD 1 vs OBD 2 Harness

wow, your grasp of the obvious is bang on. thanks for, keepin it real! I have an '97 FSM here too, that's what I used to cut out what I have already. There were some I couldn't tell the difference/colours of, but new where the came from/went too... so felt ok getting rid of them anyway. I will...

OBD 1 vs OBD 2 Harness

is that for the 97 harness you mean? I am unfamiliar with the older OBD1 harness' I am thinking I may have to skip this order, and go at it myself. Figure out what I can keep from the stock harness, and cut out the rest. If it's ECU or TCU, it stays. Get it running again, go about tracing...

OBD 1 vs OBD 2 Harness

Thanks for the info. Like I said I've already rid most of the useless stuff from the firewall back, but not I am getting into wiring I am not comfortable cutting out. Stuff from the steering column area and into the engine bay. If I could get a guy to strip a '97 compatible harness so I could...

OBD 1 vs OBD 2 Harness

I have a a trail only buggy, no need for stock lighting, stereo, a/c, heat, etc. I have thousands of little wires running all over the place... many of which I have already cut out (signal lights, interior lights, speaker wires, etc) the point of the mod is to remove all but required wiring...

OBD 1 vs OBD 2 Harness

I am interested in having a guy cut down a wiring harness for my 1997 XJ buggy. He normally does OBD1 harness', cuts them down to; fuel pump, keyed, ground, 12v, etc, bare minimum anyway I told him I have a '97, and we both questioned whether the older harness would work with the newer engine...

    Making rear stiffeners...

making stiffiners with angle iron is simple... it just read like you wanted to make some that followed every little angle of the rails. But when cross cut, they look more like a U then a l_l

    Making rear stiffeners...

I'm not sure what tools the OP has at their disposal... but bending 1 continuous piece metal about 5' long, with 2x 45* bends in it about 1" from another is not a simple procedure. a piece of 3x3 angle iron will work, but then you have the 45* gap...which unless you spend a ton of time capping...

    making some changes

as always, things (as in I) moved slower then expected... but the rear 4 link is in place. coil overs and ORI's didn't get touched, maybe next time. with everything together the numbers look like this; Uppers = 35" Uppers Frame Sep. = 33" Uppers Axle Sep. = 4.5" Lowers = 40" Lowers Frame...

    10/22 sight, scope advice

my thoughts 1. a holo sight is only good if there's enough ambient light to see the animal, if there's that much light iron sights would probably work anyway. 2. laser is good as in if it's sighted in, you can shoot from the hip, but you still need to see the animal in the darkness, but you...
