Ugh, I was planning on going down to pull apart in Birmingham tomorrow and pulling a wiring harness from another 2000 XJ. Didn't realize they didn't pull out that easy. I wanted to get a jump start on the wiring before pulling the motor.

Thanks man. Looks like I may need to redo my long arms anyways from the way RC's kit is done. I have been crunching numbers on a stroker build and the cost alone on that for what you get is stupid expensive.

I am gonna pull the valve cover tomorrow and check to see if anything is loose. Someone on another forum mentioned that their 2000 XJ made a similar noise and it was a broken piston skirt. They said that Chrysler made the skirts thinner starting in 2000??

It is the TUPY head on it.

Checked the flex plate last night and the bolt were tight. I went ahead and pulled them one by one and loctite'd them put them back. Still makes the same sound. So I am leaning towards lifter/lifters. So should I be thinking about a topend a rebuild?

Gonna check the flex plate this weekend.
