Pull a deep vacuum on the system (run the vacuum pump for at least an hour) let it rest under vacuum for another hour. If the gauges haven't moved the system should be tight. Have you done a visual of the hoses, condenser and filter/dryer ? If they are without an oily film you should be ok and...
