My brother ran 37" SSR's and they were awesome. Really smooth on the street and with the exception of the gooey stuff they were great offroad. It took him a few trips to get the sidewalls to break in but after they did whoohoo!
Just curious, why do you want to run the Swampers? 11lbs is significant when you consider it's rotating weight. Harder to stop and harder to get going, let alone drive train strain. Do you believe the traction gains will be that much better?

Great looking rig. Nice write up too. I'm curious about the performance of those re-treads. When you airdown what are the chances that the tread will seperate? I read the info on the site and they didn't say much about offroad performance. Have you run them before? Keep us up to date?
Thanks

Thanks for the response guys. The axle is out of a '97 with about 120k on the ticker. Not sure why it would go out?? I guess like you said crappy materials. I'm not savy enough to know what and where or how to measure backlash etc. so I thought if needed I would take it to a rearend shop and try...
If you replace the carrier bearing do you have to worry about resetting the gears? backlash?? Do you have to worry about any adjustments other than the torque specs of the carrier bearing? Are HP and LP carrier bearings the same? Axles same? Is it common for these to go out?
Thanks
Bill

Jeff Arabia in Los Gatos. Not cheap and be very clear what you want done.
Or Lanvender Bros down in Watsonville. That would be my first choice. Here is there website.

Ok I have these tires sitting around that I don't need. They are Dunlop Mud Rovers and have about 25% life on them. They're not forsale, but if someone wants to trade them for my NAXJA dues they can come and get'em. They just came off my rig last month and all hold air fine. They work well...
We had a great time! It's always fun to meet cool new people. I look forward to getting together again soon. I was telling Mark that we hit a deer on the way home at like 65mph and wasted my front axel and steering. So I got the new HP30 cleaned and painted and I'm getting ready to install it...
