Well, I can tell you which one NOT to get, and that's whatever brand C.A.P. (Consumer Auto Parts) stocks. Despite getting the thermostatic clutch, it's still locked up ALL the time. The only time there's any slippage is at WOT - it starts to slip around 4,500rpm...

Can anyone point me to where I can find specifications for testing the engine electrical components, like TPS, MAP sensor, etc? My Haynes manual doesn't have these listed... My '94 4.0 with 170K miles failed emissions and the local dealer doesn't even want to take the time to look at it. I...

Not sure how small your hands are, but there's no way my hands will fit down between the facia and the A/C condenser....with the facia off, I can fit half my arm between the bumper and the condenser.

Actually, I was also re-routing the lines for my tranny cooler, so the front facia removal made the work much easier. But you are correct, that the facia doen't need to come off to just pull the radiator.... Anyways, I ended upcutting the remainder of the studs off flush, then drilled them out...

Well, I'm replacing my radiator right now, and when I went to pull the front fiberglass facia off, 3 out of the 4 studs that hold it to the fenders snapped off. The front of the fender is boxed, so I can't really get to the back side to drill out the stud and replace it with a hex bolt. I'm...

I had the same problem with my '94 - the blinkers and hazards work, but no parking lihgts. I traced the problem to the connector for the front lighting harness, located next to the airbox on my LHD 4.0 (driver's side). I forget the color of the wire, but it had rotted out from the connector...

Yeah - Honda has always seemed to require special PS fluid, but this is the first VW I've had that did ('98 Passat B5). In the end, I still had to replace the rack on that POS with only 70K miles on it, so I guess paying $25 for a litre of "special" PS fluid wasn't worth it. Where in Novi are...

That's what I thought, but I was having a brain cramp... The manual asks for "Power Steering fluid" rather than Dexron II/III, and in a VW I had, you could ONLY use 100% mineral oil - tranny fluid would result in a very expensive repair. Thanks!
