Gotta work on my 91. Weak heat.
I can tell by the blend slider not going all the way to cold the blend door cable is out of adjustment.
Do they adjust at the controls or at the door?
Where is the door lever on the heater box?
Thanks.
Andy
Take a temp reading under the hood while driving in the winter, it's not that hot.
I will experiment with it if I get time.
Again, not talking about EGR. Talking of building a shroud around the header to draw the intake air past the header tubes before it goes into the air box.
It might not...
exactly!
Cold air is good for power, as the computer sees the lower temp with the IAT (or the leaner output of the 02 sens) and puts in more fuel to keep the mixture in check.
Warm air needs less fuel. Also fuel atomizes better in the warmer air.
Post a link to your stuff here once you do...
exhaust getting sucked back through????
I am talking about adding a hot air intake to the engines air intake box.
It would just be sucking air in from around the header to warm the air before it goes into the intake. Most all of my older vehicles have this. Almost all older vehicles also...
My 91 drops off a few MPG in the colder months.
I was wondering if adding a hot air intake to the air box would help. The intake is unheated on this year of 4.0L.
I thought of making a small shroud that would hold one of those aluminum intake hoses on the header. Then make another hole...
Stuff happens.
Sounds very similar to the symptoms I had on an older GM car though with a very similar switch. It would work again after cooling for a while.
Kind of interesting deal there. The Bulbs that come with the lights are made in India and have Autopal stamped on them as a brand.
I ordered a set of 80/100 Hellas and guess what? They look exactly the same, have India as the country of MFG, just have HELLA stamped on for the brand name...
Honestly the best suggestion I have for you...
Sell it and pick up a cheap Renix 4.0L rig. You can find them for under 1K pretty easily and you are ready to roll with fuel injection and no troublesome swaps.

There was an 85 for sale close to here with an LS1 in it. Was on ebay last week. Looked like it fit pretty easily.
The firewall is almost identical on the pre 87s.. it is the core support that is different like stated above.
EDIT:
Found the ebay auction...
My 91 has a factory alarm.
The switch on the drivers lock is bad on mine as well. hook everything back up and diconnect the battery. Then hook it back up and lock/unlock the passengers side door with the key. This should let it start again. I get around having it not go off by always...
I just bought a pack from a 2000 model year and mixed-n-matched them with some from another 96 model year I had laying around. Ended up around 1" over stock I think, maybe a hair more.
I kept the stock main leaf since they are almost impossible to remove on a midwest rig. Ended up with a 4...
Looking at picking up a 93 for parts or what not.
It is a 4cly, 5spd, 4wd with 113K miles on it. No title so it is just for parts or a pasture beater. Only $300 if he takes my offer.
What model of trans would it be?
Internal or external slave (says slave is bad)
Does that setup have a 21 or...
