Ford 8.8 Rear End and Ruff Stuff Mounting Kit

I do weld, but I have no XJ to mock everything up on. There is an interested party in Austin who is first in line at this point. I will update the thread if that falls through.

Ford 8.8 Rear End and Ruff Stuff Mounting Kit

Like the title states I have a Ford 8.8 rear end 31 spline out of a 95 Ford Explorer. It is complete disc to disc. 2 Sets of axles and 4.10 gears. It is a limited slip version. It has been sanded down and is ready to be painted reassembled and slapped in an XJ or Wrangler. All Ford mounting...

    Will these sleeves fit?

I considered the poly performance ones but if I am going to weld them I would prefer to use the Nitro ones that press fit in and then weld them in if they will fit. Currently just want to press fit these in and then if I feel they need it I will weld them up. The combination press fit + weld...

    Will these sleeves fit?

I would need to get the inner tube diameter on the D30 measured. The Nitro Sleeves are 2" so if the XJ D30 inner diameter is within a hair of 2" these will fit. This gives everyone another option if you can't weld but can saw a 1/2" off the end of a piece of pipe.

    Will these sleeves fit?

I would gladly do the measurements myself if I was not deployed in Kuwait right now. Was hoping someone here might have had some experience with this. I have also sent Nitro Gear and Axle an email to see what they have to say in regards to this. From what info I have been able to gather it...

    Will these sleeves fit?

Welding aside. Will they fit is the question, not whether or not I plan on welding them.

    Will these sleeves fit?

It is easy to weld, just don't want to if this will work. The truss will provide most of the strength, these are just for that little extra.

    Will these sleeves fit?

So I am in the process of beefing up my D30 and would prefer not to weld in sleeves. So my question is will these fit: http://www.justdifferentials.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=4166 They are for a JK D30 and you just press them in. A little freezer time, some lube, a block...

    Front Axle Grumblings

By hub assembly you are referring to the bearings right?

    Front Axle Grumblings

Turning, braking is no change. Only going faster than 20 MPH makes the noise go away.

    Front Axle Grumblings

Ok here is the relevant data upfront: 98 Cherokee 4.0, AW4, 242 TC w/ Tom Woods SYE and double cardan rear driveshaft, 5.5" lift, D30/D35 axle setup with 4.10 gears and Detroit Tru Tracs front and rear, 31" tires. 120xxx miles. So after finally installing my SYE and fixing my exhaust rattle...

Upgrades for a 242 Transfer Case?

The complete setup is coming from Tom Woods. It is not a HnT, it is their full replacement.

Upgrades for a 242 Transfer Case?

Upgrades are just because. If I have it apart I would rather upgrade it then to have a weak link to break later on. It is in my nature having raced turbo buicks for over 10 years I tend to overbuild so I do not break things. Unfortunately I can not sit comfortably under my jeep, but also don't...
