tire pressure for 31s- chalk test no good

This comment makes absolutely no sense. I a running Moab wheels on my Cherokee, if you are unfamiliar these are the wheels that came on the 2003-2006 Wrangler Rubicon and the factory tire size on the Rubicon is 245/75R16.

tire pressure for 31s- chalk test no good

The chalk comment makes sense but your suggested PSI range is interesting because I have always been told a few pounds of pressure can have significant effect on wear and fuel mileage. Sure everyone has their own preference for ride feel but I am looking for what is would be ideal for even...

tire pressure for 31s- chalk test no good

Anyone have an further success with dialing pressure on the DuraTracs? I am running the 245/75R16 on my Cherokee on 16x8 Moabs. I did the chalk test this morning at 28psi and still get about 3/4" of chalk remaining on the edges but then again my tires are only a few days old. I drive about 15...

    Engine Light, Gas Cap?

Ever find the cause of your code? I am throwing P0455-Evap Leak Monitor Large Leak Detected code. I do in fact smell gas fumes from time to time.

Write-up -- Installing Cruise Control in your 97+ XJ

Does disconnecting the battery clear those codes? Because I disconnected the battery the other day when I was working on it. By the way is there any kind of cruise relay or fuse on the 2000 XJs that might be causing my issues? I searched the manual and fuse panels and didn't see anything but...

Write-up -- Installing Cruise Control in your 97+ XJ

There in lies the problem. The working set of switches is now 2 sets disposed so I don't have a set to test that I am sure is right year. Here is the full set of tests I have done or need to check. I am confident these will isolate the problem. Brake Switch Check: (3) Circuits to check...

Write-up -- Installing Cruise Control in your 97+ XJ

I just read in another thread that it is possible that the cruise switches from 97-98 XJs and 99-01 XJs though they look similar may create different resistance values, do you know if this is true??? Since I am not certain the years of the XJs my switches came from, this alone could be the...

    Cruise Control not working

So are you saying the switches themselves determine the resistance and even though the switches look identical from 97-01 there are difference between 97-98 and 99-01????? Please confirm this is probably my problem because I don't know exactly what year switches I purchased and they are the...

Write-up -- Installing Cruise Control in your 97+ XJ

Is the cruise switch wiring critical to function? The switches have the same type of connector if you mix them up will it matter? I have a 2000XJ and I am having cruise control problems. I swapped out my switches a while back because the retaining brackets broke and the switches were loose...

    Clockspring Compatibility

I have a 2000XJ and I am having cruise control problems. I swapped out my switches a while back because the retaining brackets broke and the switches were loose on the wheel. The cruise worked fine after the swap but the switch brackets broke again, I think because I hold the steering wheel at...
