The tone ring comes as part of the shaft. If you list your VIN I could get you mopar part numbers which in turn could be cross referenced through most auto stores to save some cash.
I just got done doing the ford 8.8 swap to my 88xj and I am trying to install a new speedo gear. I went from the stock to a 37 tooth gear with my 32 inch tires. I cannot for the life of me get the gear in at the right clocking position. I have had it in at every spot and still no speedometer...
Finishing up the last of the ford 8.8 conversion in my xj. Does anyone have torque specs for : the banjo bolt, caliper mounting bolts, diff cover bolts, and flange adapter bolts? Also, will 2 qts of 75-140 synthetic fluid suffice? Any info would be appreciated!
I have read in a few posts that people have done away with the original mounting bolts and went with brass? Any input? Also, since my manifold came out of a 99 Grand Cherokee, do I want a gasket from a 99 Grand Cherokee or do I want one from a 1998 Cherokee. Chrysler lists different part...
I have been searching this topic for a few days now and have read many different things. I give a lot of credit to this forum and would trust people from here over any other forum. Could we all work together to form a "how to" on swapping the intake manifold? Post pics, give advice, ask...
I haven't done anything with MSD but I did buy the "Firepower Ignition Kit" from Quadratec for my 98XJ. It comes with a screamin deamon coil, firepower wires, cap and rotor. I have had it for 3 years or so and I haven't seen any downside. It allows you to run a bit of a bigger gap on your plugs
Contemplating on doing the 99+ intake manifold swap on a 98 xj this weekend. I already have the manifold and all other pieces. I want to clean it up and possibly paint it before installing it. Can anyone give me some information as far as how to clean and prep the manifold. Solvents...
I am working on a ford 8.8 swap into a 1988 XJ. I currently run a 3 inch lift and I have a question about my pinion angle. I have the shock mounts fabbed up, the spring perches set in place and the vehicle on its own weight. I have been playing with the pinion angle and I have managed to get...
Thanks Martin. I've called just about every radiator shop in the yellow pages and not much luck. I will give that modine a try after this holiday weekend. As for someone else installing it, I'm kind of looking foward to pulling the dash apart to get to the heater/ac housing. I figure it...
I've called just about everywhere for a heater core. The stealership wants $150 for a heater core. I think that is a bit too much. Has anyone come across this problem and has found a cheaper core besides a used one? Why are all other cores for YJ's, CJ.s and ZJ's $40? Any info would help...
I own a 98XJ and have been smelling antifreeze really bad inside and outside of the vehicle. I doesn't matter if the heat or air is on/off, or if I run the fan through any vents or not. I have not had any antifreeze loss as of this occurance. And there is not any leaking on the passanger side...
I've done numerous searches and haven't come to the answer I am looking for. I just got a 8.8 to swap into my 1988 XJ. I've read that some people cut off their spring perches and others leave them where they are on the ford axle. Is one or the other better? Does the location of them change...
I have posted at numerous forums and I am looking for as much information as possible. I have a 88 cherokee, 32.5" tires, stock 3.07 gearing, a np231 t-case and it's a 5 speed manual. I have read that I need a 27 tooth gear. Problem is, dealerships don't seem to have them. Am I wrong on the...
I have a 1998 XJ that I want to build up as a performance ride. I currently run a K&N FIPK Gen2 kit. I am waiting on a 62MM throttle body and am looking at aftermarket muffler/exhaust kits. I was thinking about a Flowmaster 40 or 50 series. I want to run a single in and dual out-put so I can...
