So as my screen name suggests I have 1990 XJ 4.0 auto and have been recently dealing with a intermittent rough idle. I narrowed it down to the #2 injector not getting a signal. And when I say it’s intermittent, I mean it depends on how the Jeep starts. If the Jeep’s starts and is running on all...
I had both. Drops first. Added the stiffeners later and just drilled or elongated the necessary holes to bolt the drops back on. Wasn’t that hard really.
You can get a standard threaded adapter to be able to use normal filters. That’s what I did. I can use larger filters and it’s still vertical. Very easy mod

It’s just a boomerang if it has that angle to clear the rear bumper crossmember area. I’m using SRB with my own DIY ironman style shackles. Love the adjustability and flex
The full time mode just makes the transfer case an open differential like an axle so there is no real regulation of torque as it will only be traction dependent and send power to the axle with least resistance. In theory, you could still spin only one tire while in full time. There are no...
Sounds like it’s not quite getting out of full time. Which would be only marginally better than 2wd in very low traction situations. Part time should be no different in 231 vs 242
I’m in the same boat. But maybe for different reasons. I have sort of gone too far with my XJ to even begin making it a comfortable family friendly long drive kind of rig. So I’d have to start with a clean slate on something over 20 years old with an unknown history and usually over 200k miles...
I run 15w-40 and Lucas in mine. I’d say you’re fine. It’s not making noise and is running fine. Sure it’s a little low but how often are you idling? And you have better pressure at higher RPM. I’d just up the viscosity and run it. Or if you’re motivated you can pop the pan off and pull a main...
Got it up and running with new injectors. Fired right up and ran great. Took it out for a desert trip as well and didn’t take it easy. Did some dunes and what not. Didn’t skip a beat.
Best part is that I have zero blow by. I used to have a DIY catch can that would get ounces of oil every few...
