there are no mounting brackets.
on the 97-01 XJ's the stock "bumper brackets" get removed and the bumper is a direct bolt on.
on the 84-96 i believe the stock bumper brackets do not get removed and the bumper is a direct bolt onto them? not sure how the 84-96 is setup. but nothing additonal is required for installation of it, unless you want heavierr dutierrr bumper bolts from your local HW store.
