Pre-runner fenders

I'm interested in pre-runner fenders as well, and save this link a while back with some good info... Click me! Click me!

A company called Ajax makes the mold for most of the people running JeepSpeed. There are two main fiberglass body part companies: Hannemann and Glassworks. The one linked to above is Glassworks, and Hannemann ones can be found here:

Hannemann's products are usually thicker material, so they are supposedly stronger. Glassworks has a better fit/finish. Both will come unpainted, and will not fit anywhere close to perfect (you will need to finesse/dremel to get them to fit). I guess if you are just going for looks, strength doesn't matter too much. I would go with Glassworks since they look better IMO. The Ajax ones are only available to racers, but don't quote me on that. I'm sure there are ways to get them anyway. I don't remember off the top of my head what they look like, but I still like the GW.

I am planning to mold mine from metal, and glass them into the contour of the highest ridge of the front fenders.... just above my TJ flares. This will enable me to open up the fenders even more than they are now and still look good.

Now the back is a different story. I'm still trying to figure out what to do with that mess. Mine is a 4 door so theres little room for error. The 35s are only hitting at full flex. But I dont like that so I'm gonna keep on cutting. And do a leaf pack that will give me 6" I'm at about 5" - 5 1/4.

There's another company in Fallbrook, Ca. called Baja Concepts. You can find them on the web at BajaConcepts.com. They have 2 styles to choose from but they only post the flat hood style. I got the 4.5" extended flare ones that look more like the factory fenders. These are complete fiberglass fenders(not just the flares) and need very minor trimming to fit, fiberglass rarely comes perfect. You will never need to trim these to fit larger tires. I've been running Rusty's 4.5" and 32's and have never rubbed with these on and don't even come close. If you want more pics. e-mail me and I'll send them a.s.a.p. They run right at $290 a pair if you pick them up from the shop.

This is my jeep before Hannaman cut the rear doors open and added the gas filler door (got a few looks when I had to un zues the fenders to gas up) But hannaman glass fits better than anyother glass. It just needed a little massaging under the window (but if you have done any other glass you know that is nothing compared to other companies) And if you really want to get nuts he makes a 12 inch flare, those are the 6. I know some of you rock boys would like a 2 foot wider jeep, but they need alot of work because they are full race. http://www.duffcoenterprises.com/images/jeepglass01.jpg
