Wanting to swap out my front HP D30 for a D44. Having trouble finding out where to get one off of what vehicle. Might buy just the housing brand new and build from there. Any help would be great!

What D44? Are you talking a HPD44 from a ford? Rubi axels?

What is the budget ? Are looking for a full width D44 or a stock width D44 ? What necessary fabrication and technical skills do you have ? The 4x4 forums have plenty of write-ups for XJ Cherokee axle swaps, and axle builds. Read, read, read, and when you think you have it, read some more ... Do your research, and then ask for clarification of any details you don't understand.
