custom leaf spring mounts? (Front mounts for rear leaf springs)

Hey ... I'm swapping out my leaf springs, and I'm having the horror stories for the front bolts.

I'm so pissed off at this lame-ass method of mounting a spring, I'm thinking of tearing out the old mounts and replacing them with something better. I just looked at the front mounts for my chevy truck leaf springs, and they are MUCH better ... beefier and both ends of the bolt are accessible.

Anybody ever replaced the front mounts for their rear leaf springs? Any pics or a writeup?
