i know that a trailer is deffinatly the way i wanna go here. but until i get one i was thinking about flat towing. has or does anyone flat tow? can you guys give me any advice with it? thanks dustin
Braking is usually the main issue with flat towing. Even with a 3/4 or 1 ton truck which will usually stop okay, most states allow only about 2000 lbs to be towed without brakes. I flat tow mine behind my Winnebago, and they only allow 1000 lbs without brakes. Try www.campingworld.com for towbars and braking systems. I have the system with a small compressor in the motorhome which operates a pneumatic cylinder that presses the XJ brake pedal proportionally with the m.h. brakes. It definately makes a big difference. HTH
