Ordered the rails over a month ago, but finally got around to installing them last Wednesday, and went to Rausch Creek on Saturday to give them a good testing.
here are some pics of me testing out the rails... http://www.delawareja.com/gallery2/main.php/v/whatevah/rails/
and here are some pics from the install. http://www.traildamage.net/Coppermine/thumbnails.php?album=62 FWIW, helping with the install is a guy with JCR Stage 2 Sliders for RE Longarm kit... he said my installation was easier and liked the pinch seam design better. His stick out about 1/2" further from the body.
sample:
during the "testing phase", I dropped the XJ onto some good sized rocks, slid over them, and used the rails as a hilift jack point. Xvery very pleased with them, scratched as expected but no dents! I was still grinning most of today thinking about the trip.
There is a nice dent on the rear drivers side door, that's from the last trip before I ordered the rails. XBut, with the help of AJ and Visa, I exacted my revenge here: http://www.delawareja.com/gallery2/main.php/v/whatevah/rails/IMG_7275.jpg.html ;D
I'm also quite pleased with the Maxxis Bighorns, ran them with 12 psi, and hit Blue and Black trails all day long. Followed a TJ on 35s with the Clayton Long Arm kit, and only got in trouble twice. :dunno: hehe, but a little stacking (and a front diff skid) saved me.
