What was done to YOUR rig(XJ/MJ) today MECHANICALY????

Awesome man!

I got my jeep back from the tranny shop on Thursday. Drove it home and it did great! Drove this morning to put some more miles on it and again, drove great! It's nice to have a working jeep again!

Now to do the SYE/driveshaft and hopefully I can then drive over 60mph haha

Also bought the low side horn(driver side) for the jeep so that it can pass inspection...that's been out since September lol

Sweet! Sounds like it was an easy fix too.

I'm running this: https://www.ironrockoffroad.com/product/hack-n-tap-slip-yoke-eliminator-kit.html

I also have this if you wanna use it: https://www.ironrockoffroad.com/product/hack-n-tap-drill-jig-27-spline.html

Got the transfer case back together yesterday.

They had to rebuild the transmission. The clutch packs started to disintegrate. So the new torq converter also had to be replaced

Hooked the new horn up and it was touching other metal and blew a fuse...didn't have extras. So today had to go and get some fuses and then install. Now both horns work!

Took it in to finally get inspected, been out since September, and it PASSED!

As for the SYI, I think I'm gonna go for the whole shebang...I'll see how it goes. If you'd be willing to help that would be great :D

It would probably sometime around spring, not gonna do it during the winter.

Oooo dang lol. At least its sorted now!

Totally down to help with the SYE. Super easy. Just remember to get some GOOD pliers (https://amzn.to/38ZlG90)

Got the transfer case back in the Jeep. Just waiting on amazon to bring me fluids so I can finish that and the front diff fluid change.

Tcase done. Now to have these driveshafts I just had rebuilt looked at. They both have slight vibrations above 55 mph.

nice dude! sucks about the driveshafts. Have you checked to see if they got out of phase?

Will check.

Noticed the brakes are being funky. When stopped with the foot on the brake pedal, the pedal slowly sinks to the floor. Guess I get to do the master cylinder again. :(

oh man, once you get one thing done, 5 other things pop up.

Oh did you hear Bridgeport decided to not up their prices?

So true.

Yeah, happy about that.

Got the master cylinder swapped out. Brakes are MUCH better!

Spent a bunch of money today:

TUPY 0331 Head
Magnaflow Precat Assembly
Banks Torque Tube Header
Head gasket/bolts and spark plugs

Debating throwing in a THOR cowl intake and the Viper coil mod while I'm at it.

Most of the parts should be here by next weekend. Borrowing a buddy's engine hoist so I can make head removal a one man job.

Hopefully I can knock this out over a long weekend and then turn my focus back to the long arms.

Installed all new steering tie rod assembly only to find that the boot for the drag link ball joint was ripped when it started spewing grease as I greased all the ball joints. Bites.

Got my drive shafts back. Slapped one in and its good. Got to test the other one still.

My Jeep hasnt driven this well in so long!!

I love that feeling

Replaced a wheel stud and gas tank gasket on kendrik’s 98. It still needs horn, blinker and windshield before it can serve as his son’s DD.

Mine needs at least a fuel pump before it’ll run again.

Replaced the speedo sensor. Next up is to replace the breather hose for the front diff.

Got a whole pile of parts... wish me luck. Starting the head project Saturday morning.
