Well, it was about time for another run, this time to break in the new stickies and the new steering setup
The GF and I took work off and headed down Friday afternoon...mainly to get the buggy re-registered and plated
From there we headed over to Old C's just off Powers to meet up with a longtime friend of mine I hadn't seen in a while. After that we headed on down.
Only hiccup there was that I couldn't remember where the camping areas were. So, instead of driving around with the trailer we just pulled off up about 100 yards past the bathrooms and slept in the truck.
We had planned on camping there Saturday night, but we got through the trail quick enough (we started about 11, finished at about 2:30-3pm) that we just packed up and headed back to FoCo.
All over it was a great day, great weather though really hot. The only issue on the trail was me. The shifter for the 231 bent, and I couldn't get it in 4low. This wasn't an issue coming down Bunker Hill...but a rather large on trying to go out Patriot. So we pull a couple dozen allen head bolts, held up my center panel and shifted her into 4low. This made a WORLD of difference since I wasn't having to floor it to climb the smallest of stuff. I'll need to change my tranny fluid since it's pretty cooked. Nothing bad other than that.
We all drove the exit after we used one as a guinea pig to figure out the line
Onto some pics!
The blue rig in front of me is Jason, who lurks around here His is an XJ buggy as well.
