Got a new PSC 4.5" pulley to put on my 96.
Question--will I need a new serp belt. Is there enough adjustment in the mount to take up (what I think) is extra belt.

Old belt has been on 2 yrs anyway so a need for a new belt would be OK.

Wayne,

It appears that a stock PS pulley is about 5.5 inches in diameter, at least on my '98. By going down to 4.5 inches, you are reducing the radius by .5 inch. It might be kinda of close, as I'm not sure how much adjustment your '96 allows.

I will say however, that I'd go with a stock OEM belt for a replacement. I tried 2 NAPA belts, but they would stretch out beyond the adjustment range on my '98 within a day, and would squeal like crazy. The OEM belt didn't seem as big as the NAPA one, and it didn't stretch out either.

Odd, unless it was a Powerfit brand belt. All the Napa belts and hoses are made by Gates and are usually top of the line. The powerfit branded belts are about half the price and made in Korea

Heres some belt info.......(btw these are Gates #'s)

Thanks, looks like I,m going to need a new Shorter belt.
Belt I have been running is a Goodyear "Gator-back" seems to be OK.

I ended up running a 1010K6 on my Renix with the smaller pulley. Before I had been running a 1025K6.
