Strange Noise when starting/Cutting Off

My GF just bought a 93 country with 140k on it. Awesome shape, engine sounds good and no lack of power, and very clean. Well i noticed today that when she starts it up there is a metal clunking noise that almost sounds like a cracked manifold and it also does it when she cuts it off but not when shes driving or while its idleing.. But im not sure on this, because my buddys Zj has a cracked manifold and you can hear it all the time, so im not really sure.

Maybe a piece of exhaust is banging on something?
Or worse, your flex plate is starting to crack a bit.

Well i also noticed that the exhaust hanger is layed up on the gas tank and tilted from hitting the leaf springs. Thinking that is what it is but wasnt sure.
