my 2001 xj hood is about 1/16 inch higher than the header panel.
i adjusted the hood stop and it's as low as i can make it.

it almost did the job. but it still is a little higher.
anyone got any ideals that might work or help

1/16"... I think that is well within factory specs, and I do believe because of teh slope of both pieces it will always appear higher

You shouldn't be able to see the header panel's edge

if the front of the hood is higher and the rear is level I believe I found that when I replaced my hood no matter how I played with the shims, I could not get the front down far enough. Once I got the rear leveled I fould that the rubber stops on the fenders were keeping the hood up(about a 1/16 of an inch. So take your pick. Grind the hood or slim down the rubber stops. Check it out.
