With four days left of 2009, I thought it would be cool to post your most memorable events of 2009. Jeep related or not lets see the pics or hear the stories.

I'll start with my most memorable wheeling trips of the year.

Hypothermia Run (March): Overnight snow run + great people + tons of snow + hot chili = Great time!

Northwest Fest (June): I have to say Thursday was the most memorable/fun day for me. Our PDX crew pre-ran some trails for Saturday and managed to get turned around for a few hours. At times we were running up an down ridge lines on what seemed like 1860's wagon trails.

Also from NWF... my biggest screw up of the year.

Late Summer TSF Run (August): Absolute perfect weekend at TSF. Small group, no carnage, and some really fun trails were accomplished.

My last thing is the NWC's newly adopted trail, Saddle Up. It feels good to have NAXJA on the map, and I'm really looking forward to what it will bring next year.

Despite mine and Jake's tent collapsing under the weight of about a foot of new over night the Hypo Run was a blast! Looking forward to it again this coming year.

I have to agree getting out there and hanging the signs for the trail was one of mine.

Fishing days like this.

getting my first chinook salmon even though it wasn't a keeper, one hell of a fight on 10/8 line.

And all the places I get to see while out doors.

Oh and the time we spend at the coast and our kids don't argue AT ALL, ALL DAY!!!

My tumble down a ravine at Liberty is unfortunately my memory that was most significant in 2009. I'm sure many of you remember the thread, if not pics and video here:

Bottom line, blinding sunset + fatigue/inattention + no guardrails and a steep slope make for a piss-poor ending to what was otherwise a great weekend.

1. The Rubicon
2. Barett Lake Trail
3. TTC
4. Hypothermia Run
5. NW Fest

I don't know if this counts or not?
1. My son and my first RC Crawler Comp

I am really proud of the southern contingent adopting Saddle Up!

What I am looking forward to in 2010.
1. Moab
2. TTC
3. Hypothermia Run
4. NW Fest
5. a 1st place overall in a RC Crawler Comp.

2009 started with me Junking my first XJ, it had too many problems and i needed a better platform. I bought my brother inlaws 89 off of him for $500.. a great deal considering the work he had put into it maintenance wise..

Here's how it looked under his ownership at the end of december 2008

after it was lifted up a few inches, i enjoyed wheeling it about 5-10 times
While the rig that replaced the XJ for my brother inlaw had a nice little FLOP (haha)

Camping in april at lyda, that was one very wet weekend i wont soon forget

It has been a great year for me; I got a job, new axles under my jeep, two new sets of wheels and tires, and some other cool stuff too.

Got my job at Master-Pull in January because Victor spotted my jeep in the WWU lot.

Then I went to Walker a few times:

Didn't make the rockface.

Missed the hypo run because I was in Italy and Switzerland visiting my sister and other family members. I went to the Ferrari museum and factory.

Then Master-Pull was supposed to go to EJS but our trip was cut short when we got to Issaquah with some mechanical difficulties.

I hit Reiter Trails a few times over the winter and spring, saw this crash in February:

Reiter again for more carnage in june, broken 1 ton steering:

My starter also went out that day, I killed a KM2 and Victor's stock steering broke.

NWF:

I also went to evans creek a few times over the summer, and the PNWJeep meet and greet as well. A few guys from here went to the last Reiter cleanup in October before they closed the area down, and I ended up at Reiter on Halloween for a few hours to ride around with Opie.

I just got done putting my HP44 a few weeks ago with Opie, and my 8.8 went in this spring. Hydro assist is next on the list along with some HID lights, Race radio and a new rear bumper. I can't wait for KOH and EJS this year!

I'd have to say the highlight of my 2009 was Idaho Rally in July...

Crazy rallycar jumps, more winching than anyone could ever imagine, the latest working nights imaginable, the most challenging vehicle recoveries I've ever seen, and some of the best people to spend time with ever.

Moab EJS was right up there too, but I'd really like to have something I could play a little harder in...not exactly easy to push the limits in a $30K Jeep you don't own.

If I can get some axles in the YJ soon enough, this year will be much more fun.

well, personally i am glad 09 is coming to an end ! this year was not a good one for me... In early Febuary i had my first real breakage on my rig in 4+ years. it was just a front U-joint, but thus began my downward spiral...

Then in May it was time to up the carnage a bit and try for a rear shaft

Success !! Broken D44 !

Needless to say, this created the need to upgrade (cough cough)

alloys and disk brakes !
002-3.jpg

003-4.jpg

which of course couldnt have come at a worse time financially for me, with NW Fest right around the corner and a bankrupcy in the works. So i sold my sole, gave up my house and my dog, moved into an appartment and finalized the bankrupcy.

so here i sit, no house, no dog, no money. But i still got the jeep... and a cpl upgrades.

Fawk you 2009 ! :badpc:

ha ha ha !
