if theres enough interest maybe we can caravan out there!

OK, joking aside, where is this place? I've heard of it a million times. I might have even been there. I've been to 1 or 2 of the competitions before. Someone post a link to google maps of the location or something.

I prefer to 'Google Earth' places.
It gives a real picture of the place.
It also looks like it might be fun to have a weekend group trip there.
Has anyone here ever been there?

BTW I won't be able to make it out for the event, I swear EVERY WEEKEND through the rest of the year is booked!

NOT KIDDING!

Rick

I would be intersed in going, but I could only go for sunday..

Just curious, does Google Earth give you better picture than the Google Satellite?

Like this: http://tinyurl.com/6d7amk

Or is it something different?

the navigation is a little easier and I think it loads faster. But most of all it lays the satelite image over a 3D rendered topgraphical map. So a mountain is actually a mountain with the picture of the mountain.

There are also some major cities that have the major buildings rendered

Meh, I don't need a real picture of the place I'm going just to watch crawling, I just need to know an address or a lat/long so I know how to get there. I'll see it when I get there. No need to open up another app.

I DO use Google Earth when I want to actually explore an area I'm going to be wheeling at though.

Take the 15 north to Bear Valley Road east.

Bear Valley Road dead ends into the 18. Go right. (Trivia time... That corner is called Dead Man's Point!)

Continue straight through the town of Lucerne. The 18 turns into the 247. AKA Old Woman Springs Road.

About 12-13 miles past Lucerne turn left on Camp Rock Road.

Turn right at stop sign, then IMMEDIATE right again onto dirt road. That is Granite road.

Where Granite road meets the powerline road there is a rock pile on the right. Turn right after the rock pile and go up the valley.

Huge stone mountain on right is Cougar Buttes......

Enjoy! But you better friggin haul out your trash. Every year we spend Thanksgiving there and the amount of trash sickens me. We usually spend the first day with rakes shovels and trash bags cleaning up.......

I have been in 05 and 06 and 07 for a few hours till the women got "bored". If u go and camp. Camp near the benders and pirate, there free porn and free entertainment and an occational stray cat that makes her rounds I think.

Its great times if u enjoy pure crawling at its best w real world obst. its all nateral and one of the few that are I think. You will see ( or at least yrs past have) all the big names and very tech spotting as well as balls to the wall get it, teams.

Be prepared to pay at least $10 / person to watch the event. The good old boys from the south tape off the whole area and set up a pay station to get in. Funny how they don't put that on the website.

Just an FYI.

How would they get away with this? Is it private land?
