So I decided to start the 'What I learned at WinterFest thread!

1. Burger - Pork - Burger does not require a Bun.
2. Jeeps can go almost anywhere with good tires.
3. If the check engine light is on, Leave it! Doubled the gass mileage on the way home.
4. Once you actually know who people are, WinterFest is SO much better!
5. Driving 600 miles with a bad u-joint on the rear DS makes your butt numb for several hours afterwards...

MWC can do weddings.
James duff skid plate for a 9" is worth every penny but couldn't save the axle from me
Don't break the 4' rule with Dan's daughter (unless you have a really sweet beard)
Blueberry brandy will sneak up on you and f you up
Hydro assist is amazing

ageeded on the tires. last year i had crappy street tires and got stuck many times. this year with a set of all terrains not one time did i get stuck

I learned a lot so i will add more as i gather my thoughts but here is a start

AT's wheel a lot different than MT's there is a lot more skinny pedal involved

if you buy rock rails on Friday you will smash your rockers on Saturday

you could tell who josh's newb was by the tree damage :D

if there is a whole thread giving bad weather tips for camping and you dont listen to a single one of them don't wonder why all your clothes, shoes, chairs and food is sitting in an inch of water at the bottom of your tent

dont trust your neighbors
the metal awning in the middle of the campground provides the perfect spot to party in the rain

You don't need a Jeep to enjoy Winterfest!
Chicago Jeff's Jeep still moves under it's own power.
Absinthe makes the heart grow fonder, and also makes Kimmer see northern lights in the southern sky!
Hobag really has a wife.
I miss you guys in "the off season"

One more thing, Beer-Goggle's Jeep looks BAD ASS!

I miss mine, (a little)

It's always moved under it's own power...... didn't dare break it, I couldn't afford to fix it for too many years.

1. I never realized how envious I was of Sean R's planning for the weekend.
2. Rev Den lived up to his nickname.
3. A truck camper is priceless in terms of keeping the weather out and heat in.
4. A stripper pole is not as popular in the MWC as I anticipated.
5. Brenden is starting his own Winterfest traditions :worship:
6. Being Yohn'd meant the popup didn't have a chance.
7. Rev Den likes sand...
8. MWC campfires as usual rock.
9. I have some commited friends to drive 300 miles round trip to come to a wedding.
10. Alcohol is still good to barter with.
11. Buses are still cool.
12. I have a wife.
13. Party on Pat's white whale bus was better than an IU tailgater I'm sure.
14. Snow is BETTER than cold rain!
15. Becareful of the shots you drink in Sean R's camper.
16. ChiXJeff is really a real person...but I haven't seen him since my last trip to WI...in 2007.
17. Rosco loves NAXJA.
18. It meant something for the rain to stop just in time for my wedding.
19. I just gave away half my stuff :)
20. ChiXJeff and Flex have the same dentist :smootch:

mac 'stopping before it gets too deep' gyvr

Rosco loves naxja.

I was serious, if he/you want to come to the drags sometime you have a place to stay.

Every year I learn some new things....

Some people will follow me even when I tell my wife, "no one is gonna try this".

Flex really can drive....really good.

Whoever told the K-5 Blazer that they could go on my run has a really sick sense of humor.

People still try to sneak in the event to save a few bucks and let others handle supporting the chapter.

I can still run to the back of the group.

The VFW capacity is 135 people, we had about 140.

Robie's provides plenty of really good food, that we did not have to cook.

Mac and Grace truly are perfect for each other.

WF can be a two day event, next year plan on all day runs.

Rough Country is an amazing company for taking care of Collin.

Dan is a cool father....much cooler then I would be.

I still think Rich is one OK dude.

It is getting harder to find a Frankenspare winner, you guys need to be dumber.

I can walk on fire.

:firedevil: I learned that in a drunken stooper you can make stupid sugestions and people will do it.

I learned that you can be REAL CLEAR on rules and they will still get broke.

I learned that Grace is even cooler of a chick than I thought

HoBag is really alot funnier than I remember when he's drunk

DiscoSteve is one crazy mofo

I learned that you can only use the wrong equiptment so long.

I learned Kimmer has everything in his van, and Mac carries everything in his Jeep (cept joints that are too small)

P/U campers are the sh!t, although I think the RV gods don't like me.

Rev can make people cry when he's serious.

AWESOME weekend all!!!!!!!!!!!

I learned:

Give her the onions(thanks Arnie)
Brendan can wheel without exploding a ring and pinion
Discosteve has no fear of breaking stuff
Mission impossible breaks things
ChiXJeff is real
Playing in the sand can be fun!
OME is the shit
my camper leaks......a lot
radiant heaters are the suck in pop ups
My puppy chewed through my electric blanket cord
Brad's ZJ has wings

Motor mount bolts will fall out at the worst possible moment if you forget to put the nuts on
Buses get really cold at night when the heaters quit
Even if a bus is cold it stays dry when it rains, unlike a tent
It's not always 60* at WF but you wish it were
Dan's daughter thankfully looks like her mother
Once my daughter turns 14 she will no longer be allowed to attend WF
Rev Den may not be a cool guy but he is a cool Rev
Rev says some pretty funny s**t
A wedding in the mud in the cold in the rain in an old quarry can still be touching
You cannot scare Grace away
I can get through WF without breaking
I always have a good time at WF

Les is a Winterfest Hall of Famer in my book.

I can't wait to try Josh's 2012 WF Cigar.

I've seen Chi-XJ Jeff at Meatfest, Brewfest and now Winterfest!

a bunch of Jeepers can put together one heck of a "pot luck".

plain and simple...Tyler is good people!

wheeling with the front locker actually working, makes your cajones grow :)

We added a day to the event and it was still too short.

We counted over 40 at Robies Thursday night...good signs that adding Friday as a wheeling day is a good decision.

Saturday..... Chin (noob)(spelling?) found the skinny peddle and then found a tree! Chin is the most improved in 24 hours driver I have met! Hope to see him next year.

too much to list right now. Great to see some old and new faces.

What I learned at WF 2011:

1. "Just think about your nose!"
2. You can't have anything against the walls of a tent.
3. Dehydration is worse when you're pregnant than off-roading in a Jeep for a weekend.
4. Everyone thinks they are a comedian when they are around a pregnant woman.
5. Discosteve will still make an ass out of himself even when he tries not to.
6. Winterfest isn't a vacation but mostly a test of ones endurance and love for the hobby.
7. The "U" in U-joint means universal... (No I didn't know that before..)
8. Winterfest is still fun without booze... and humiliation.

I am sure there is more... but that's what I have for now.

4. Everyone thinks they are a comedian when they are around a pregnant woman.

I have no idea what you are talking about! :eyes:

I learned to bring my scanner with me next time to eliminate my guess work next time my XJ doesn't start...
