I'm wanting to get back into a Jeep ride, and I really like the Cherokee, But being a uni-body I know there is so much I can do. Has anyone heard of anyone powerstroked a Cherokee and reinforcing the uni-body? I'm also wanting to lift it about 4 inches. Any suggestions, and advice would be appreciated.

Thanks to all !!!

Pretty sure the powersteoke is going to be too large/heavy for the XJ even if you reinforced the shit out of it.

I think the popular diesel swap right now is a VW Jetta engine.

If you got the money the R2.8 cummins would be a very nice solution but would run 9 grand before adapters and what not.

For a powerstroke, you're looking at an engine that is way too wide and is over double the weight of the stock 4.0, you're going to have a tough time not only fitting it, but you're going to have to run much stiffer springs to support the added weight.

Too much torque/weight/size/engine for an XJ. LS is bad idea as well.
