Nice. I see you painted them before welding them on. What paint did you use? It was said that weld through primer was difficult to weld through. Was that your experience?

Not the OP, but I've used the weld through primer once (can't remember the name - was a copper color) and it was fine. And I've read about others using it without issues a few times.

Finally finished the mid sections! Re-primed then and got the first layer of under coating on.

I used some Rust-Oleum primer and then wire brushed it off where I welded. I was mostly worried about the back side and didn't want to leave it bare metal.

I had planned on installing adjustable upper and lower control arms that I ordered from Protune Suspension but it look like they sent me the wrong uppers :( so that'll have to wait.

Finally tracked down a problem I was having with my steering being a hard in a few spots. Steering shaft ujoint on the fire wall side only moved in one axis. Those are a pain to replace.

Sold bumpers, installed stock rear as placeholder and waiting on Dirtbound Front Winch bumper. Also install the Stinkyfab Tranny Mount. Makes a big difference in the way the Jeep shifts/drives. Lowering the XJ a few inches soon and then finally take it out for a shake-down run.

Water pump gasket blew out. Got the old stuff removed and cleaned up. Will be installing a new pump, thermostat and tstat housing later today. This happened a day after taking the jeep on a ~500 mile camping trip/trail ride. I'm glad it waited till I got home to blow!

Good Stuff man! I bet those new arms made a big difference
They sure did! It's a much smoother ride now and not quite as much poping up front :). I still need to install the front and rear frame stiffeners then it should be pretty solid all around.

I also received my Detors knocked bone rear tire carrier and got it painted and mounted. It's pretty nice.

Thats a great looking rig!

I did some Rocker replacements on my old ride. Took some 2x8 and shoved it in there and welded it up. It made a huge difference for stiffing everything up. Also gave a place to tie in a cage.

Thanks! I have a some 2x6's that I'm thinking about doing that with someday

Finally got my longer rear studs in and some 15x10 alloys mounted up. Throttle body is out getting machined to 62mm and a new aux fan is going in this weekend. Running out of things to do!

Replaced the XJs transfercase Output seal. Twice. First time i must have warped it a bit driving it in and it dumped a half quart of ATF in 20 miles. Pulled the extension housing and put the new one in using the press. Much better. Good thing its a 30 minute job including finding tools my wife moved 🤣

After photos? I haven’t seem many Renix Jeeps with the extra in line fuse mounted up so I’m wondering where you put it at.
Two gauge wires?

I got the renix kit, XJREN2GA. And yea, I went with 2 gauge.

I mounted the fuse on the passenger side just behind my battery. I'll try to get some better pics of all the cables be daylight tomorrow if you want.

I like them. I didn't notice a huge difference but I think that I will once I run through Cruiser54's ground refreshing/c101 eliminate.
