Good shop in Bay Area?

Looking to install a super 35 axel kit and ARB locker.
Can anyone recomend a good shop in/near bay area.
Had a bad experience with 4 wheel parts installing my
SYE and dont want to go back to them. I dont feel
confident messing with gear stuff myself, rather leave that
to the pros.

Sounds like I have the wrong bay (monterey), but Right Gear and Axle is a place in Salinas that does an amazing job--very easy to work with and they'll follow up on all their work. They once took the whole front diff apart for me thinking I had broken some teeth on the r&p and when they didn't find anything they didn't charge me a dime.

There's probably a place closer to you, but if not these guys would be worth the travel. Look them up at www.rightgear.com

Rear End Specialties in Santa Clara. I haven't had work done there but my friend has and they do good work. Not cheap though.

I did my axles there, did a good job. I pulled the axles and it was about $150 per axle for gears and another $75 or so for the ARB.

That was with the axles pulled out of the rig.

Ive heard from friends who have had work done here say its a very good shop who does great work. Arabia's Automotive in Campbell. There a small shop and speacilize in jeeps. Check out there site and have a look!

P.S. They dont have the greates site and some of it is underconstruction but you can give them a call and discuss what you want done.

Arabia's is supposed to be the best shop around but you will pay way too much for what it is worth. Rear end specialists are really good just had a locker put in by them and I am very happy. Down time was only 1 day.

Jeff is a great guy and carries on a good conversation, but is on the expensive side. I've had all my junk done at Rear End Specialties with good results. Like Letterman, I've just brought over the axles by themselves.

In all honesty, I'm having a difficult time posting suggestions regarding a Dana 35. Even if it "super".

Great thought!
I agree 100% so if you have not dropped the cash on it, try not to, the 35 is not worth putting money into!

I agree with both letterman and capt. nemo. I changed my 35 out for a 44 withthe help for capt. nemo and I am glad cause I know it is a lot stronger than the 35 that was there. There is a 44 at the PnP off of commercial in an xj right now, I would go and buy that then put a locker in that. just my $.02

I beleave that 44 is gone!
but yeah the 35 C-clip will leave you on the side of the trail

Thanks for the input, will look into the shops mentioned.
My problem with upgrading to a 44 is it seems thats a "gotta
be in the right place at the right time" thing. My job as a truck
driver makes this almost impossible. Maybe I'll see if these shops
can get their hands on one for me. Hoping to get this done in
time for the Swamp Lake Run.
