transmission crossmember specs?

I have a 97xj (automatic). Looking to get a replacement crossmember (mine had contact with a tree stump ), and have a few questions.

Are auto and stick crossmembers interchangeable?

Can i use a pre-97 crossmember on my 97?

The crossmember itself i beleive are diff for manuals vs autos. They both can be mounted tot he jeep but you need the one for you application auto or manual.

I pulled an auto tranny out of a 97 a few weeks ago and I don't think they are the same. If you don't get an answer by Thursday I am heading to the impound yard and I can check. Might be something good to put in my XJ notes

I was comparing X-members a couple weeks ago:

88' 2wd 5spd MJ
87' 4wd 5spd XJ = same

2001 5spd XJ = different.

But that's all I know :lecture:
