Credit Card Fraud

So little rant here…

I had my CC hacked over the weekend, got an alert Sunday evening of declined charges so called up canceled the card… ect. I noticed many of the charges that were approved were at a local Meijer as well as a gas station near it. I’m thinking wouldn’t be hard to figure out who came and bought 30 gift cards in a row… I ask the girl at Chase if they go after people and she said no but you can file a police report.

So I went to my local PD yesterday and the cop tells me, yeah I’ll just close this out we don’t go chasing CC numbers… really? No wonder CC fraud happens so often, no one even try’s to catch them!

Side note, I make every purchase with a CC and glad I do, little hassle to get a new card out but 0 liability on my part!

Your attorney general is your next step. I'm sure s/he would love to know your local PD is telling you they won't even attempt to try to help you.

Yep... Wasn't until about the third time that I figured out it was a gas station about 5 miles from me. All three times my card got hacked it was the day after I filled up there.

They have the lowest prices in about a 15 mile radius. Which draws a lot of customers. Which broadens their pool of potential victims.

I told the bank about it. They said they would "look into it"... I doubt it.

Sounds like someone has put a skimmer on the card reader on the pump. Shouldn't be too hard to find it then watch and see who comes and takes it.

And people look at me funny when I admit to paying cash for fuel unless I have a gift card..................................

Yep, cash is the way to go. Our tellers are finally used to me pulling our monthly cash out to fill our envelopes but at first I was getting very confused looks as to why I wanted to pull so much cash out in very specific denominations.

I never carry cash, I mean it’s a slight inconvenience to have a new card sent out but like I said 0 liability of losing any of my money, that and now that I have learned responsible use of a CC (not carrying a balance) I get back quite a bit back in rewards for just using it on everyday expenses.

Just an FYI, since the CARD act of 2009 debit cards have the same protections.

I can help you..

Just post pictures of the front and back of all your credit cards and I'll make sure you get squared away

I have a few "big bank" credit cards, but use only USAA, and credit union for banking. I have only had a single issue with my card, that was resolved and no liability on my end. The only inconvenience was having to wait for a new debit card.

The advantage of a CC over a debit card is that you don't loose the money in your checking account and have to wait for it to be put back. Consider your debit card gets hacked and drained then your mortgage/rent checks bounce, ... one big hassle..

I've been engaged in carding for a very long time and the bank that you use brought me the most profit. I'm very surprised by the negligent attitude of world banks to their clients and the security of their money. All you need to successfully cash out a credit card is to read a couple of carding tutorials and find ILLEGAL STOLEN CREDIT CARD INFO FORUM LINK REMOVED for credit card brutforce. Every teenager can steal money from you with only a computer and a little knowledge of carding. Be careful with your personal data and remember that stealing someone else's is bad.
I mean this in the kindest way possible:
I hope your house burns down with you in it, credit card scam spammer.

Aww...

Someone must have deleted the thread about his wife being seen in a casino.
