rooftop tire carrier

Any one have any cheap ideas for carrying a spare on the stock roofrack. I have a fishing trip coming up and its my turn to drive but I dont want to take my full size spare in the cabin so I thought about strapping it with ratcheting clamps to the stock rack. Any one have any cheap bright ideas to make this secure and look good, pics please.

Move cross bars, untill they are a good width apart, to sit the tire on. I just strapped it to them, tightly, and has held good so far(only 1 wheelin trip, and about 250 miles).

just be sure to check how tight the straps are after a few hours and the next couple of days. the strap may streach over time (rope even does it) and thus you may loose the load. i have noticed it mostly in new straps.

dont mind me, im just paranoid about that kind of thing.
